Simply Smiling Brooks. Atlanta Newborn Photographer { Marietta , Canton Georgia }

March 11, 2011

Here is an amazing little guy that journeyed to the studio from Marietta. First of all I LOVE his name. Just how cute  is that  &  it is so fitting  for him .  Brooks  was perfectly ready for his session with his sweet  face and gleaming Mom and Grandma, all the way from the lush green of the Northwest. It was a special day for him for sure.

Brooks smiled  A LOT   !  His perfect little curl of his lips ….

His ever so soft  hair on his temple

his peaceful sleep.

Thank you for a great day little man.

Poems, Books & Words

February 23, 2011

I do really like poems quite a lot.  As a child I would randomly write them when I felt I needed to express myself some how. I never really thought much of it at the time and don’t really know if I was any good at it but it made me feel better.   Somehow , that seems like such a long time ago  but I still love to find and read a great work.

I have certain sayings or quotes of art in my home . If I could I would have a wall plastered with all the best quotes of the world and words of art   and reminders for my family to live by.

Here are some of my favorites.

Also, a very good book  Love  You Forever that always makes me nostalgic for when my boys were so little and I would read this to  them  . I could never read it without some tears.  It was about a mother who holds her baby as a newborn and says the following every night to him until he is grown and then the role reverses when the son holds and rocks the mother in her old age.  Ohhh, it is so sweet but warning you it will definitely make you cry.

“I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be.”

I can’t think of anything better than being a new mom  and to the new mom’s out there  enjoy  the new life  you have been blessed with .

Sweet little babies is what I   l.o.v.e.   These two were just that!   Lil’ Miss. E has a very pretty tinge of red hair and Mister M  has  the darker hair . They make such a great pair wanting to always be beside one another. They were still very tiny being 5 weeks early but they seemed just as healthy as can be. I am always excited to meet the newest of the world and here they are at  just past 2 1/2 weeks.

The Chester Family ……………………..{Cherokee County Canton Georgia Family Photography}

November 13, 2010

The Chester family wanted a fall session before all the leaves fell to the ground. The weather is still being beautiful these days and a cold snap has changed the leaves into their firecracker reds, yellows, & oranges but I have a feeling its all coming to an end soon.  The Chester family wanted a fall session before all the leaves fell to the ground. Christy has a great family & we decided to start off  taking some photos of their two very handsome teenage boys  first.   Then we went for  a walk for some more photos in a pasture  with more family  which you may think they look familiar…. Its  Christy’s brother and Jodie who I photographed  a few days before . Enjoy !

November 5, 2010

This was a really fun session with Jodie & Casey.  I was so happy she contacted me to do a session for them and some of  her family . They are really easy to get along  and a very sweet couple married for three years now.  I can tell that they are very happily in love and that they care tremendously for one another .

Thank you so much for having me spend the evening  capturing some care free moments of you & Casey!  I can’t wait to show you the rest and the ones of you with your sisters.

{p.s. Jodie is a teacher so I hope she doesn’t grade me on my writing skills:) }

Update this couple found out shortly after that they would be expecting a baby July 2012!

Brittany & John ……………………….{ Canton Georgia Family Photography }

November 3, 2010

Brittany and John are a playful brother and sister pair who I was very excited to photograph last weekend.   Brittany is a beautiful young lady who I instantly adored as soon as I met her.   I am so happy to have spent some time with  her . I know her brother well but haven’t had many opprotunities to see her. She is super fun I tell you !  She reminded me of a teenage  country music singer  so stylish, smiley,  and  dressed in  her cowgirl boots.  I couldn’t get over her eyes.  Her eyes are simply amazing!

I ‘ ve  had the pleasure of knowing John for a while as he is one of my son’s best friends. He is  a funny guy that is always bringing  humor into whatever he does.   I love this about him  but his other side is equally  fun. He sat quietly as he played his guitar. It was a moment I was glad to be apart of . He seems to be so modest about it but  I  must say he is very talented  and I hope he stays with it and I get to hear  a lot more of his playing in the future. Guitar music is a favorite of mine. Keep it up  and always follow your hearts you two! xoxo

Oh, What to Wear ……. { Atlanta Canton Georgia Family Photographer}

November 2, 2010

I get asked  what to wear  the most out of all the frequently asked questions. It seems to be easier for children sessions but when its a family its a little different and more thought has to be put into it.

First of all I want you to be very comfortable and to feel your best . Wear what makes you feel confident and it will show in your pictures.    When your trying to coordinate some looks for more than  one try picking 3 colors and staying within that color palette or family of colors.  In the example below, you’ll see brown, burnt rust color, and a taupe heather grey. Notice not every color has to be on every person but just balanced throughout.  That’s not to say that some times this is the case but I want you to know it is okay if it doesn’t work out that way. It can be added in with accessories if needed.  Lay the clothes on the floor or on your bed and get a sense of whether they go well together. This will give you an idea of the cohesiveness  and if you need to change something. The family’s I photograph always pull it together and I think look great . This is just to help set you more at ease.

I love jeans  , I feel they always look good    with everything dressed up or casual chic !  Here are a few examples of some different looks for a fall family.  Feel free to insert a pair of boots with the dress instead of pumps  if your like me!  It’s all fun!

Dancing Dreams …………………………. { Atlanta Woodstock Georgia Children’sPhotographer}

October 31, 2010

I always look forward to seeing this little beauty. She is one of my  favorites and now I can hardly believe she is seven years old now. I first met her as I photographed her as the flower girl in a wedding .    As every girl dreams of being a dancer she showed me some of her precise and graceful ballet moves.  I see amazing potential for her!  She is so full of character, astonishing ,  and infectious with her many beautiful smiles!    I always  know we  are going to have fun no matter where we are.  Enjoy the sneak peak!

I love a girl who wears Boots!

I have so many favorites but there's something I really love about this one.

Happy Birthday month sweetie!

New little sister & big brother { Atlanta Canton , Georgia Children’s Photographer}

October 27, 2010

Meet Charlie the 3 month old pretty blue eyed girl and her big brother Brodi( AKA my son’s best friend).  They came over to have a session together.  They have been trying to get here since Charlie was a newborn however she had to wait until she was 3 months. She’s so adorably round with babiness .She was such a good girl too as her mom sang  her a favorite lullaby while she  smiled and loved  to hear her Momma’s voice.   Brodi and I had extra time later  while he played on the tire swing under the big oak tree in our front yard.
